SECRET

Plot:

The story is about a high school student Ye Xiang Lun, who studied in a school for the musically and artistically gifted. Ye’s piano skill was unmistakably a notch above others. On the first day of school, while wandering in the piano rooms, he heard an unknown and alluring melody played by a fellow female student, Lu Xiao Yu.
From then on, the two were always together, which thereafter led to incidents that gradually binded them together. However, Lu seemed to always carry a mysterious aura around her and when Ye tried to get to know her more, she always brushed off his questions by saying that it was a secret.
Unfortunately at the later stages, there was a misunderstanding between the both of them, which subsequently led to Lu's disappearance. Ye was heartbroken and tried to locate her whereabouts frantically.
But the more he tried to find out, he realized that things were not as they seemed with the chain of events that spiraled along during his search for Lu's whereabouts.

what i think:
Haha, it’s a jay chou movie but im not biased in saying that it’s a good movie. Really :D its really unexpected from a first time movie director. The actors are good and jay acting as a student is cute. And his piano abilities really made me melt. I didnt know he was that good. The unexpected twist in the middle of the movie is… (I wont say!! Even though most of you should know by now..) there are many music/background music in this movie which are really nice. this movie made me view the piano is a new light. Go watch it!! :D

NODAME CANTABILE

plot:

Megumi Noda, or “Nodame” is a piano student at Momogaoka College of Music. An extremely talented pianist who wants to be a kindergarten teacher, she prefers playing by ear rather than reading the music score. She is messy and disorganized, takes baths several days apart and loves to eat, sometimes stealing her friend’s lunchbox when it is filled with delicacies.
Shinichi Chiaki, is Momogaoka’s top student. Born into a musical family, he is talented in piano and violin and has secret ambitions to become a conductor. An arrogant multi-lingual perfectionist who once lived abroad in the music capitals of the world as a young boy, he feels mired in Japan because of a childhood phobia.
They meet by accident. Nodame quickly falls in love, but it takes much longer for Chiaki to even begin to appreciate Nodame’s unusual qualities. Their relationship causes them both to develop and grow. Because of Nodame, Chiaki transfers into the Conductor Division, leads a student orchestra and begins to have a broader appreciation of people's musical abilities. Because of Chiaki, Nodame faces her fears and enters a piano competition. Opportunities open up as both begin taking risks, stretching themselves far more than they ever thought possible

What i think:
the actor is the poofy head guy from the waterboys movie. quite good looking and acts well too. the girl acts well too. this show changed my perception of the orchestra. i went to a orcherstra concert once and almost nodded off and sweared that that will be my first and last time going to an orchestra. but now, i dont think i will be quite willing to attend one. Must be a good one lar. It another perception changing music show :D great show. Good music skills (even though its acted) displayed. this is one show that made me pleased that i have watched it. thanks ade for the intro!

HANAZAKARI NO KIMITACHI E

Plot:
The drama is based on the popular manga of the same name by Nakajo Hisaya, which has already been dramatized in Taiwan. Horikita plays the protagonist Ashiya Mizuki, a Japanese girl in the U.S. who one day sees the young athlete Sano Izumi (Oguri) compete in the high jump on television. She begins to idolize him, and decides to move to Japan to attend the same school as him. However, Izumi goes to an all-boys school, so Mizuki disguises herself as a boy to achieve her dream of being with her idol.

what i think:
better than the taiwan one. the guy who takes the da dong role is much cuter and appeals more. the actress also takes minr details into account such as walking. the reason for her to want to come to japan and be in the same school as the guy who takes the wu zun role is much more realistic and believable.
there are a lot of good korean and jap shows but i cant think of any more now =)
